Madness ensues

This is the first of the Mixtape Madness project notes!

What the hammered Hell is Mixtape Madness you say? (or if brevity is your thing, what the hh is mm?)

"Why, Thank you for asking ! " I say, and promptly ignore your question.

Ok, fine.

Mixtape Madness is ONLY the latest craze in music sharing! ONLY the single greatest use of social media to share inspiration and Ideas ever CONCOCTED!

Ok so this is the first time I tried it, and I just made it up, but it could be fun, you naysayer.

It goes like this;

1.) There is a theme per week. I post that theme in a note!

2.) You, should you be interested, (come on, it takes no time at all!) concoct a mixtape of 12 songs to explore, emphasize, or express that theme.

3.) You send me the tracks and I post the track listing of said work of genius, Like this:
1. Track - Artist
2. Jezebel - Rue Mcclanahan
...
and, should you be so inclined, you may also include your submission for next week's theme!
Sometimes, the theme can be short, like "Snow". Sometimes, the theme can be elucidated, like "I am trapped in the bottom of a well. All I have is this transistor radio. It gets one station which plays..."

4.) Here's where the real madness begins, you can take anyone's track listing and put their Mixmaster skills to the test! Grooveshark, your CD collection, and the vastness of the internet are at your disposal! Figure out if their choice of songs works for that theme.

5.) At the end of the week, you cast your vote for the best expression of that week's theme, and your vote for next weeks theme, based on everyone's entries. Send it to me in a message. Tdr.leach@gmail.com . Yup, we're doin' secret ballot.

6.) As state of music induced euphoria sets in, I tally our votes up. And then, I post the name and track list of that weeks Mixmaster in a new note with the new theme! All chosen by you! I may even post a link to the downloadable form of that weeks Mixmaster-Mix!

eh? EH?

The Feel Free Section:

If You don't want to play every week, no problem! Feel free to show up when you want to!

Feel free to vote and not play, but you don't get to be a Mixmaster by voting. Only Mixing leads to Mixmastery!

Feel free to Invite friends! I am not adverse to hearing new potential Mixmasters.

We Coo? Coo.

Without Further ado, this weeks introductory Theme is :

"Then, at last, they lifted up the sky and let the roaring starlight in."

Post your 12 track listings and new themes! Send your Votes!
New round begins on Tues, February 2nd!
